Alerts

Alert posts are given the “alert” category. These posts are used to highlight important information regarding security threats to the Embassy and U.S. Citizens.

Once a post is created, choosing the alert category will automatically populate the post on the Alerts and Messages page.

The Alerts and Messages page will display all alert posts for six months from the publishing date. Alerts will also display in the blogroll on the homepage for  easy viewing.

Notification Bar

Any alert post can be set to display a gray notification bar within the header of the site. The purpose of the Notification Bar is to highlight a specific Alert to increase the total number of viewers.
